This walkthrough follows our own playthrough of Marvel's Wolverine on PS5, recorded on our YouTube channel kijibaQuest with no commentary and all cutscenes included. We upload a new part every week, and this page grows with it: it currently covers Part 1 (Telambang) and Part 2 (Canada and Vancouver). Every step links to the exact moment in our video, so you can jump straight to the part where you are stuck.
The game is not open world, so the steps follow the story in order. Story facts are cross-checked against Wikipedia's plot summary and the PlayStation Blog.
Every successful attack, parry and kill builds Logan's Rage (PlayStation Blog). Rage powers stronger attacks and his Healing Factor, and when he is badly hurt he can spend it on a Last Stand to heal. Techniques such as Tornado Spin and Bull Rush hit groups, Critical Strikes finish enemies, and you can stalk enemies or ambush them from above.
What mattered most in our first two parts: parrying builds Rage safely, the opening raid already teaches stealth and Logan's enhanced senses, and the first Nightmare Trial in Part 2 is a straight survival fight where you need to use Rage to get through the waves.
The game opens in the present day. Logan reunites with Team X for a rescue mission deep in the jungles of Telambang. Wolverine, Mystique and Sabretooth fight through Bolivar Trask's forces towards the fortified compound where Nathaniel Essex, the geneticist who founded Team X, is being held. This first stretch introduces the claw combat, stealth and Logan's enhanced senses.
From our playthrough, Part 1 (▶ watch from 1:32).
The mission takes a darker turn when Omega Red (Arkady Rossovich) and his Reavers join the hunt. Logan comes face to face with him, and the scene hints at a shared past between the two. Team X keeps pushing deeper into Telambang with Omega Red close behind.
From our playthrough, Part 1 (▶ watch from 6:39).
Wolverine reaches Trask's heavily guarded compound and has to find a way inside. Expect soldiers, Reavers, mutant detectors and technology built to weaken mutants. Logan and Mystique fight through the defences towards Essex. Use stealth to thin out groups before an open fight where you can.
From our playthrough, Part 1 (▶ watch from 15:45).
The infiltration goes wrong: Wolverine is caught inside Trask's defences and forced into another hard fight. Mystique steps in to keep him alive, and the two continue through the facility while Trask tries to stop Team X from reaching his prisoner.
From our playthrough, Part 1 (▶ watch from 23:09).
Team X finally finds Essex, but Trask shoots him before Logan can reach him. The rescue becomes a race: fight through Trask's remaining forces and head for the prison area.
From our playthrough, Part 1 (▶ watch from 33:29).
Reach Essex's cell and clear out the guards. With Essex alive, fight your way back through the facility to Team X's extraction point while Trask's forces close in from every side. Team X reaches the extraction point, but before they can leave, Omega Red attacks and rips Essex away from the group. This leads straight into the first boss fight (see the boss section below).
From our playthrough, Part 1 (▶ watch from 38:15).
After Telambang, Logan returns to the Essex Institute in the snowy Yukon, Canada, and reconnects with Team X. His past keeps haunting him: memories and disturbing visions start to surface, and Wolverine looks for answers about his forgotten history.
From our playthrough, Part 2 (▶ watch from 3:41).
Essex guides Logan through a Nightmare Door, where fragments of his lost memories take shape in a snow-covered world. The trial is a combat test against waves of Reavers: build and use Rage to survive until you can escape the nightmare. Finishing it opens up new abilities.
From our playthrough, Part 2 (▶ watch from 10:10).
Back at the Institute, visit Walter Langkowski, who has been working on a new combat suit for Logan. Gather the materials he needs, including supplies from Sabretooth's room, and Wolverine receives his classic yellow-and-blue suit before heading back into the fight against Trask.
From our playthrough, Part 2 (▶ watch from 21:38).
Wolverine travels to Vancouver to look into missing mutants. In an abandoned building he finds signs of a struggle, mutant restraints and clues that point to Trask's Reavers. Use Logan's enhanced senses to pick up the trail of a mysterious red-haired mutant and follow it through the city's industrial district.
From our playthrough, Part 2 (▶ watch from 24:02).
The trail leads to Leech, a young mutant caught up in Trask's operation, which shows that the Reavers are targeting even children. Keep following the trail through heavily guarded industrial areas and fight through the Reavers in your way.
From our playthrough, Part 2 (▶ watch from 25:51).
Logan finally meets the red-haired mutant: Jean Grey, a powerful telekinetic who has been protecting the captured mutants from Trask's forces. After a tense first meeting they team up against the Reavers. From here, Jean's telekinesis can open enemies up for Critical Strikes together with Logan.
From our playthrough, Part 2 (▶ watch from 39:49).
The Reavers escape with captured mutants in a heavily guarded convoy. Logan takes a motorcycle and chases them down the highway: dodge attacks, use the claws to wreck enemy vehicles and leap between moving trucks to fight the Reavers at speed.
From our playthrough, Part 2 (▶ watch from 44:14).
โ๏ธ Boss Guides
Omega Red
When
End of Part 1. Team X reaches the extraction point in Telambang, Omega Red rips Essex away from the group, and Logan has to face him. It is the first major boss fight in the game. Wikipedia's plot summary confirms Team X defeats Trask's henchman Omega Red during the Essex rescue.
Attack Patterns
From our fight: Omega Red attacks from range with his carbonadium tendrils, so you cannot simply stay in his face. His reach is the main threat.
Strategy
Parry or dodge the tendril attacks rather than trading hits, stagger him, then close the distance and punish with claw combos while he is open. Parries also build Rage, so keep enough for a Last Stand if he lands a heavy combo. Our full fight is in the videos above (▶ watch from 42:35 in Part 1, plus a separate boss-fight video).
