What This Means

Many of the "Buy" buttons and price comparison links on review pages, guide pages, game hub pages, and the deals page are affiliate links. If you click one and purchase a game, we earn a small commission from the retailer. The price you pay is identical whether or not you use our affiliate link.

How This Affects Our Editorial Content

It doesn't. Our review scores, buying recommendations, and editorial opinions are formed independently of any affiliate arrangement. We do not accept payment for positive reviews. We do not allow affiliate relationships to influence which games we recommend or what scores we assign.

Games receive the score they earn. If a game scores poorly, we say so — even if it would generate more affiliate revenue with a positive recommendation.

Affiliate Links Are Clearly Marked

Links with rel="nofollow sponsored" in the code are affiliate links. On the page, "Buy" buttons in our price comparison widgets and buy boxes are affiliate links. Editorial links within review body text are not affiliate links unless explicitly noted.
