Editorial Standards

How we research, verify, label and correct what we publish.

What kind of pages are these?

ParryStack pages are research-based. A game overview, beginner guide or walkthrough is compiled from sources (below), not from ParryStack staff playing the game for that page. We do not publish proprietary 1–10 scores or category sub-scores, and none of our pages claims hands-on testing it did not do.

If ParryStack publishes a hands-on review in future, it will be labelled as one and will state the platform, game version, hours played, completion state and where the copy came from. Until a page says so, assume it is not hands-on.

How we research

Release dates, platforms, developers and DLC come from publisher and developer sites, official patch notes and storefront listings (Steam, PlayStation Store, Xbox, Nintendo), supported by Wikipedia and its citations. Boss, item and mechanic details come from official documentation where it exists, otherwise from established game wikis and guides. Pages that have been through a source check carry a Sources & fact-check list with links.

How we verify

  • Each claim is checked against at least one loaded source. If we cannot verify a claim it is removed or clearly qualified, not guessed.
  • Names of bosses, items, skills and places must match the game’s own naming.
  • Prices are never typed in by hand. Where a price is shown it comes from a live price feed; otherwise we link to the store.
  • Patch notes shown on game pages come from official Steam news feeds.
  • Automated checks flag things like unreleased games carrying review markup, rating markup, broken links and broken contents anchors. They help us find problems; they do not prove a fact is true.

Current status: many pages were originally generated from templates. We are re-checking the catalogue page by page against sources. A page without a “Sources & fact-check” list has not yet been through that check, and may still contain errors — please tell us.

Critic scores

Where we show a critic score it is a third-party aggregate (for example Metacritic), shown per platform, with its source and the date we checked it. It is never presented as a ParryStack rating.

Updates and corrections

Pages show an “Updated” date that changes only when the content changes. When we find an error we correct it at the same URL and keep an internal correction log. To report an error, use the contact page or email contact@parrystack.com with the page address and what is wrong.

Money

Some store links are affiliate links; see the affiliate disclosure. Commissions do not change what we write.
