Valheim: Walkthrough & Boss Guide

This is a short boss-progression outline for Valheim, checked on 12 October 2026 against Wikipedia and a Valheim 1.0 boss guide. It lists each biome's boss, the summoning items and the key reward. Recipes, gear lists and boss weaknesses are mostly not covered because we could not verify them; where a guide named a weakness it is noted. Wikipedia gives the early-access launch as 2 February 2021 and lists a full release on 9 September 2026.

Eikthyr is summoned with 2 Deer Trophies. Defeating him gives 3 Hard Antlers (needed for your first pickaxe), the Eikthyr Trophy and the Eikthyr Power. The Games.gg guide notes that his lightning attacks hit harder than they look but lists no specific weakness.

The Elder is summoned with 3 Ancient Seeds; his runestone is inside Burial Chambers. The guide lists fire as his weakness and recommends 100+ fire arrows. He drops the Swamp Key (needed for the Sunken Crypts), the Elder Trophy and the Elder Power.

Bonemass is summoned with 10 Withered Bones, gathered from the Sunken Crypts, where his runestone also sits. Blunt weapons deal the most damage and the fight involves constant poison, so Poison Resistance Mead is recommended. He drops the Wishbone, the Bonemass Trophy and the Bonemass Power.

Moder is summoned with 3 Dragon Eggs from dragon nests. The eggs must be carried to the altar on foot, since they cannot be taken through portals. Because she stays airborne for much of the fight, a bow is recommended, along with frost resistance. She drops the Dragon Tear (used at the Artisan Table), the Moder Trophy and the Moder Power. A Blast Furnace needs the Artisan Table.

Yagluth is summoned with 5 Fuling Totems placed at the Stonehenge-like structure that also holds his runestone. He uses fire and meteor attacks. The guide gives no specific weakness and recommends the best Plains-tier armor. He drops the Yagluth Trophy and the Torn Spirit, which gives the Yagluth Power.

The Queen was added with the Mistlands update (December 2022 per Wikipedia) and is the sixth main boss. The guide says her first fight needs no summon item: find the runestone in an Infested Mine, then reach the lower levels of the Infested Citadel. Repeat fights require 3 Seeker Soldier Trophies. She drops Majestic Carapace and the Queen Trophy.

The Ashlands update (May 2024 per Wikipedia) added the Ashlands biome and the boss Fader, the seventh of eight expected main bosses. Per the Games.gg guide he is summoned by placing 3 Bells around the coliseum structure; the runestone is at the central tower of the Charred Fortress. He drops a Fader Relic and the Fader Trophy. The guide warns that the biome is very hostile and recommends establishing a foothold first. Specific Ashlands gear and ore advice is not covered here.
