🗺️ Main Story Walkthrough
Tick off each step as you go — your progress saves locally, no account needed.
From the Stranded Graveyard, follow the path to the open world of Limgrave. Grab a free Spirit Calling Bell and Lone Wolf Ashes from the Twin Maiden Husks at Roundtable later, but first ride to the Church of Elleh and meet Kalé. Take the time to find a starting weapon you like and a Site of Grace network. Pick up the Whetstone Knife in the Gatefront Ruins to unlock Ashes of War.
Head north up Stormhill toward Stormveil Castle. Buy the Margit's Shackle from Patches in Murkwater Cave to stun Margit twice during his fight. Summon the Sorcerer Rogier or use the Spirit Ashes outside the fog gate. Margit gates progress — he is a skill check, not a wall.
Enter via the front gate or the side path (talk to Gostoc). Clear the castle, opening the shortcut lift. Rich in upgrade materials and the Rusty Key. The legacy dungeon ends with Godrick the Grafted — your first Great Rune.
After Godrick, descend to Liurnia. Explore for the Carian sorceries, then assault the Academy of Raya Lucaria (Glintstone Key from the dragon at Lake-facing Cliffs). The academy ends with Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon.
Travel east to Caelid (or warp via the teleporter chest at Dragon-Burnt Ruins). At Redmane Castle, the Radahn Festival begins the spectacle boss fight against Starscourge Radahn. Use the summon signs liberally — this is a multi-NPC war.
Reach Altus via the Grand Lift of Dectus (two halves) or the Ruin-Strewn Precipice. Cross to Leyndell, the Royal Capital. Work through the capital to Morgott, the Omen King, the final guardian of the Erdtree.
After Morgott, Melina opens the path. Cross the Forbidden Lands and ascend the Mountaintops to the Fire Giant — a large arena endurance fight that gatekeeps the Forge of the Giants and the burning of the Erdtree.
After kindling the Erdtree, you are sent to Crumbling Farum Azula. Beat the Beast Clergyman, who becomes Maliketh, the Black Blade — one of the game's fastest, most aggressive fights. His Destined Death attacks reduce your max HP.
Return to a burning Leyndell. Defeat Sir Gideon Ofnir, then Godfrey, First Elden Lord / Hoarah Loux. Beyond them lies the final arena.
For the toughest optional fight, assemble the Haligtree Secret Medallion (two halves) and brave Elphael to face Malenia, Blade of Miquella. Her Waterfowl Dance is the hardest move in the game — bait it, then run/dodge in a specific rhythm.
At the foot of the Erdtree, face Radagon of the Golden Order, who transitions directly into the Elden Beast. Bring a strong physical weapon and stamina for the cosmic second phase, then choose your ending at the final Site of Grace.
⚔️ Boss Guides
Margit, the Fell Omen
Attack Patterns
Margit feints with his cane and conjures glowing holy weapons — a dagger he throws, a hammer overhead, and a sword swipe. The feints are designed to bait early dodges; wait for the actual swing.
Phase 2
Below ~60% HP he adds a holy spectral hammer and a longer combo string. Stay patient.
Strategy
Use Margit's Shackle (bought from Patches) twice to stun him for free hits. Roll into his swings, not away. Summon a Spirit Ash to split aggro. Bleed weapons and jumping heavy attacks stagger him for ripostes.
Godrick the Grafted
Attack Patterns
Phase 1: wide axe sweeps and a grafted-arm flurry, plus a leaping slam. Phase 2: he grafts a dragon head onto his arm and breathes fire in a long sweeping cone.
Strategy
Summon Nepheli Loux (sign by the fog gate) to tank. Stay close and to his side to avoid the fire breath. Punish the recovery after his big overhead. Frost and bleed both proc quickly and stagger him.
Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon
Phase 1
Run to the glowing student among the crowd and hit them; repeat three times to knock Rennala down. Ignore the spectral students otherwise.
Phase 2
She floats and casts sorceries — a homing full-moon, gravity slams, and summons (dragon, wolves, a giant). Close the gap and pressure her; she has low poise and staggers easily. Dodge the slow telegraphed moon and keep attacking between summons.
Starscourge Radahn
Attack Patterns
Radahn fires gravity arrows from range, charges on horseback, and slams with dual blades up close. Phase 2 he teleports to the sky and crashes down as a meteor, then becomes more aggressive.
Strategy
Summon every NPC sign on the battlefield to spread aggro. Ride Torrent to dodge the opening arrow barrage and close distance. Re-summon fallen NPCs at the spread-out signs. Bleed and scarlet rot both work; hit-and-run between his combos.
Morgott, the Omen King
Attack Patterns
A faster, deadlier Margit: cursed holy weapons, a long rolling-thrust sword, and a Phase-2 explosion of holy swords from the ground plus a grab.
Strategy
The Mimic Tear ash is ideal — it copies your build and splits aggro perfectly. Stay aggressive between his combos; his recovery windows are punishable. Roll late into his swings. Dodge the Phase-2 holy nova by rolling toward him as it erupts.
Fire Giant
Phase 1
Target the giant's wounded ankle and the eye on his shield. He rolls, stomps, and lobs fire. Stay near his feet and ride Torrent to reposition around the huge arena.
Phase 2
He tears off his own leg, reveals a fire cauldron in his belly, and unleashes catastrophic fire-orb storms. Stay under or behind him; target the hand/cauldron. This is an endurance fight — bring patience and a charged heavy weapon.
Maliketh, the Black Blade
Phase 1 (Beast Clergyman)
Fast lunges and a curved-sword flurry. Lock the camera off and watch his body, not the blade.
Phase 2 (Maliketh)
Extreme aerial mobility — he leaps around the arena and his Destined Death attacks reduce your maximum HP (red bar). Stick to him, dodge toward his landing spot, and punish the brief pause after his big leaping slam. Bleed helps; the Blasphemous Claw item parries his red Destined Death swing for huge damage.
Radagon & the Elden Beast
Radagon
Fast hammer slams, holy AoE explosions, and a teleport. Stay close and punish after his combos; he staggers and can be riposted.
Elden Beast
A cosmic, highly mobile second phase. It swims away constantly — use Torrent-less sprinting to stay glued to its body and attack the lower torso. Dodge the Elden Stars holy comet barrage by running perpendicular. Holy-negating gear (Haligdrake Talisman) reduces its main damage. Save flasks for the long second half.
Malenia, Blade of Miquella (optional)
The Key Threat: Waterfowl Dance
When she leaps into the air, she unleashes a three-burst flurry. Run away from the first burst to create distance, then dodge into/through the second and third bursts diagonally. Mistiming this is the #1 cause of death.
Phase 2 (Goddess of Rot)
She gains scarlet rot explosions and a giant dive-bomb opener — sprint sideways immediately when the fight resumes. Frostbite procs interrupt her and reduce her aggression; bleed also works. Use the Mimic Tear to split her attention. Never get greedy — she lifesteals on contact, so one stray hit refunds your damage.
