About The Last of Us Part II

The Last of Us Part II is Naughty Dog's controversial, extraordinary sequel — a game that deliberately subverts its predecessor's narrative momentum to tell a more complex, morally demanding story about cycles of violence, grief, and the cost of revenge. Ellie's story unfolds across a post-apocalyptic Seattle divided between two factions: the Washington Liberation Front (WLF) and the Seraphites (Scars). What happens in that city over four days reshapes both the character and the player's understanding of who deserves empathy.

The gameplay is the most refined in the series. Ellie has a complete new moveset — crawling through grass, vaulting obstacles fluidly, going prone — that makes the stealth and combat feel more three-dimensional than the 2013 original. Enemy AI is significantly improved: enemies communicate, flank, and call each other by name, making each encounter feel personal. The crafting, upgrade, and resource management systems provide mechanical depth across the game's lengthy campaign.

The PC port (2025) delivers a technically exceptional version with uncapped frame rate, ultra-wide support, and full graphics customization. The Remastered version adds a roguelite No Return mode and behind-the-scenes content. Part II remains among the most debated games of its generation — and one of the most important.

Why Players Love It

🏹
Expanded Movement

Ellie can crawl through grass, go prone, vault obstacles, and swing on ropes — a movement system that makes every environment a tactical sandbox.

🧠
Enemy AI

Enemies call each other by name, communicate positions, and coordinate flanking. Killing a dog causes its handler to grieve. The human cost of violence is rendered deliberately.

🔧
Dual Crafting

Scavenged materials craft molotovs, health kits, suppressors, and bombs. Upgrades at workbenches improve weapons permanently. Resource scarcity creates genuine tension.

🎮
No Return Mode

Remastered-exclusive roguelite mode that randomizes encounters, modifiers, and boss encounters for replayable challenge runs with unlockable characters.

“Go prone in tall grass before every encounter. The AI loses track of you significantly faster when prone, and crawling lets you reposition without being heard.”

“Upgrade the bow first. Silent ranged kills are the most resource-efficient way to clear encounters — arrows can be recovered from bodies unlike most ammo.”

“Listen to enemy chatter. They communicate when they lose track of you ("I lost her!") which tells you when it's safe to reposition without guessing.”
