About Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade is Shift Up's action game (PS5 26 April 2024, PC 11 June 2025; a Switch 2 version is listed for 5 November 2026) — a technically impressive third-person action game that synthesizes elements from NieR: Automata, Sekiro, and classic action games into a polished, stylish package. You play as Eve, a soldier from an orbital colony deployed to reclaim Earth from monstrous creatures called Naytiba. Alongside Adam, a human scavenger who rescues her, and Lily, a survivor of the 5th Airborne Squad who provides engineering support, Eve battles through a post-apocalyptic Earth with exceptional combat and some of the most technically impressive PS5 visuals available.

The combat system blends parrying (Perfect Parry, L1 at the last moment before a hit), dodging (Circle) and Beta Skills. Per Wikipedia, the Beta Gauge fills as you parry and evade and is spent on skills, while the Burst Gauge fills through successive parries and combos to activate buffs and powerful attacks. Eve's moveset expands through skills you unlock as you progress.

Xion, the survivor settlement, serves as the game's hub — a surprisingly warm, lived-in community whose restoration is one of the game's emotional throughlines. Side quests involve helping individual survivors, and the world-building through environmental storytelling and collectible records creates a rich sense of Earth's fallen history.

Tips

“Perfect Parry everything. Stellar Blade's combat is built around the parry — even if you can't execute it perfectly on bosses, training on basic enemies builds the timing muscle memory.”
ParryStack editorial tip
“Skills such as Counter I and II only trigger after a Perfect Parry (Eve gets behind the enemy and counter-attacks to stun them), and Focus Boost makes the parry timing more lenient while you learn.”
ParryStack editorial tip
“In Eidos 7, the Planet Diving Suit (7th) outfit is in the Flooded Commercial Zone, after defeating Abaddon and taking the monorail: go to the lower floor and enter through a slightly open door.”
