Every month we spotlight the tips our community voted most useful. These 10 earned the most upvotes — real strategies from players who beat the boss, found the build, or broke the game.
Route B is NOT the same game as Route A — it adds entirely new scenes, new gameplay sequences (hacking minigames), and revelations that completely change the meaning of Route A events. Play it fully.
The Assess Materia is essential. Assessing every new enemy type reveals their elemental weaknesses and pressure conditions — the difference between a 3-minute and 10-minute boss fight often comes down to exploiting the right weakness.
Sebastian Sallow's questline unlocks all three Unforgivable Curses — Avada Kedavra (instant kill), Crucio (damage over time), and Imperio (mind control). Completing it is essential for endgame combat power.
Use the environment in every fight. Barrels of oil, explosive crates, height advantages, and pushing enemies off ledges — BG3 fights are puzzles as much as stats checks.
The chip system lets you remove HUD elements for a challenge — but you can also remove the OS Chip for a secret interaction. Back up your save before experimenting with OS Chip removal.
Do not skip the Chadley Intel tasks in each region. Completing them upgrades Chadley's simulation battles, which award the best Materia in the game including Combat Simulation rewards unavailable elsewhere.
Save before every major conversation and door. BG3 tracks state in ways you won't predict — a choice you made two hours ago might surface as a consequence right now.
The Master Key starting gift opens almost every locked door in the game and enables sequence breaking. Veterans use it to skip entire sections; beginners should avoid it to experience the intended progression.
The Alohomora spell (opens locked doors) can be upgraded three times. Level 3 opens Hogwarts' hardest locks and reveals the best hidden rooms in the castle — prioritize upgrading it.
Never fast travel in your first playthrough. RDR2's world reveals itself through riding — random encounters, wildlife, stranger missions, and weather events only appear if you're actually out in the world.
