🗺️ Main Story Walkthrough

Tick off each step as you go — your progress saves locally, no account needed.

Step 1 of 8
Wrenwood Hotel — Grace's Investigation Begins

FBI technical analyst Grace Ashcroft arrives at the abandoned Wrenwood Hotel to investigate a string of disappearances linked to bioweapon activity. This opening section establishes Grace's stealth-first playstyle: she lacks Leon's combat proficiency and must avoid or silently dispatch infected rather than engaging them directly. Collect files and evidence scattered throughout the hotel lobby and guest floors to build a picture of what happened. Resource management is critical from the start — Grace's inventory is small, and ammo is scarce in this section.

Step 2 of 8
Wrenwood Hotel — Leon's Arrival

Leon S. Kennedy arrives at Wrenwood shortly after Grace and the game shifts to his action-oriented perspective. Leon's segment of the hotel covers different rooms and service corridors than Grace's, revealing how their paths intersect. Leon's combat mechanics build directly on Resident Evil 4 Remake's blueprint: parrying melee attacks, precision headshots for staggers, and knife finishing moves. Upgrade the Matilda handgun's magazine capacity at the first Typewriter you encounter — enemy density increases sharply in the hotel basement.

Step 3 of 8
Rhodes Hill — The Care Center (Grace)

Grace infiltrates the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center, a sprawling medical facility overrun by early-stage infected. The Care Center is the game's most expansive early location, with locked ward doors requiring key cards found throughout the building. Grace encounters "The Girl" — a ghost-like figure that stalks her through darkened corridors in a tense pursuer sequence reminiscent of Mr. X from Resident Evil 2. Study The Girl's patrol patterns and use hiding spots inside lockers and under gurneys to avoid confrontation. The Care Center Basement holds the first Safe and several upgrade-critical files.

Step 4 of 8
Rhodes Hill — The Care Center (Leon)

Leon's Care Center segment involves a different wing of the facility and is more combat-forward, culminating in the Chunk brothers boss encounter. Leon must navigate the flooded basement and the Care Center courtyard before reaching a rendezvous point with Grace. The Water Treatment Plant adjacent to the Care Center is a standalone stealth section where Grace must operate alone again, using the environment to neutralize infected without triggering the facility's alarm systems. Securing Antique Coins in this area unlocks useful merchant trades later in Raccoon City.

Step 5 of 8
Raccoon City — Leon in the Ruins

Leon re-enters Raccoon City for the first time since the 1998 incident, and the game leans hard into nostalgia — recognizable landmarks from Resident Evil 2 appear in various states of decay. Leon fights through East Raccoon City and the city center against both mutated infected and Umbrella security forces. The Titan Spinner boss encounter marks the midpoint of Leon's Raccoon City chapter. Upgrade the Shotgun's reload speed before this section and keep Magnum rounds in reserve for the ARK bosses ahead.

Step 6 of 8
Raccoon City — Grace at the Orphanage

Grace navigates the Raccoon City Orphanage where Emily — the young cloned experimental subject she encountered earlier — was housed before the outbreak. This chapter reveals critical lore about the Progenitor Virus strain and Grace's own biological immunity. The Orphanage is the game's most puzzle-dense area, with locked rooms requiring environmental solutions. Grace also encounters Blister Borne here — a cyst-covered creature that spawns smaller Blister Head enemies when damaged. Prioritize destroying Blister Borne's cysts in a specific order to prevent the smaller enemies from overwhelming the narrow corridors.

Step 7 of 8
ARK Laboratory — The Umbrella Facility

Grace and Leon converge on the ARK, Umbrella Corporation's secret subterranean laboratory beneath the ruins of Raccoon City. The ARK is the game's final major dungeon, divided between Leon's action-heavy combat sections and Grace's infiltration of the facility's inner sanctum. Plant 43 guards the entrance corridor; the Super Tyrant Mr. X blocks progress deep inside the lab. Fully upgrade your primary weapon and stock Magnum ammunition before descending into the ARK — the three boss encounters here occur in rapid succession with minimal recovery time between them.

Step 8 of 8
ARK Continuation and Finale — Victor Gideon's Endgame

The ARK's deepest levels reveal Victor Gideon's true plan: to use Grace's Progenitor immunity to engineer a new, unstoppable bioweapon strain called Elpis. The Commander stands between Leon and Gideon in the facility's command corridor. After defeating the Commander, the finale sequence begins with Grace and Leon working in tandem against Gideon's transformed final form. Ensure your hatchet is sharpened, your armor is fully upgraded, and you carry at least four healing items into the Gideon fight — it is the game's hardest and longest boss encounter.

⚔️ Boss Guides

⚔️

The Girl

Weakness
Cannot enter rooms with closed doors; locker and gurney hiding spots break her pursuit
Recommended Gear
Stealth focus; conserve all ammo, use hiding spots, avoid engagement entirely

Attack Patterns

The Girl is a ghost-like humanoid pursuer encountered in the Rhodes Hill Care Center during Grace's chapters. She has long white hair, moves silently, and phases through obstacles to close distance on Grace. She cannot be permanently killed by conventional weapons — any damage only staggers her briefly. She patrols in widening search patterns when she loses Grace's position and will investigate sounds. If she catches Grace, a rapid melee assault deals massive damage.

Strategy

The Girl is a pursuer encounter, not a traditional boss — survival rather than combat is the objective. When she appears, immediately move toward the nearest locker or gurney hiding spot and wait for her patrol to move away. Avoid sprinting unless necessary as the sound draws her attention. Closed doors slow but do not stop her; they buy several seconds to reposition. The encounter ends automatically once Grace reaches the key objective in the ward — do not waste ammo attempting to fight her.

⚔️

Chunk (Brothers)

Weakness
Fight them separately if possible; explosive barrels near the arena can be shot for burst damage
Recommended Gear
Shotgun for stagger, Flash Grenades to create separation, Matilda for follow-up shots

Attack Patterns

Chunk and his mutated brother are encountered by Leon inside the Care Center. Both are large, heavily built infected with enormous physical strength. They coordinate their attacks, with one charging Leon while the other circles to flank. Their primary attacks are grab attempts and overhand slams that deal massive damage. Chunk is more aggressive and closes distance faster; his brother uses wider, slower sweeps that cover more horizontal area.

Strategy

Use a Flash Grenade at the start of the fight to stun both brothers and create immediate separation. Focus all Shotgun fire on Chunk first to drop one threat quickly before his brother recovers. Aim for the head to trigger a stagger, then follow up with a Matilda burst. The arena contains explosive red barrels near the south wall — lure one of the brothers adjacent to a barrel and shoot it for a large burst of damage. Maintain distance during their recovery animations and circle the arena to avoid getting cornered between both brothers simultaneously.

⚔️

Blister Borne

Weakness
Pop cysts in order from largest to smallest to minimize Blister Head spawns
Recommended Gear
Shotgun for cyst bursting, Submachine Gun for spawned Blister Heads, healing items

Attack Patterns

Blister Borne is a large, cyst-covered human-like creature encountered by Grace in the Raccoon City Orphanage. It charges and body-slams when up close, but its defining trait is the cyst mechanic: when any cyst is punctured, it sprays corrosive fluid and spawns a fast-moving Blister Head enemy from the burst. Blister Heads swarm aggressively and deal significant damage if they reach Grace. The boss also has a wide horizontal sweep attack that catches players attempting to circle it.

Strategy

Engage the cysts in order of size — largest first — so each Blister Head spawned is dealt with individually before the next cyst pops. Use the Shotgun at close range to burst a cyst, immediately switch to the Submachine Gun to eliminate the spawned Blister Head, then circle back to the next cyst. Avoid triggering two cysts simultaneously or the Blister Heads overwhelm the tight orphanage corridors. Once all cysts are cleared, Blister Borne is vulnerable and can be finished with Shotgun shots to its exposed core.

⚔️

Titan Spinner

Weakness
Spiderlings die instantly to any hit; staying mobile prevents web snare
Recommended Gear
Machine Gun for spiderlings, Shotgun for direct boss damage, Matilda as backup

Attack Patterns

The Titan Spinner is a giant mutated spider encountered by Leon in the Raccoon City outskirts. It scurries rapidly around the circular arena, attacking from multiple angles with a bite lunge, a web-spit that immobilizes Leon, and periodic bursts where it summons clusters of small spiderlings. The web-spit attack leaves a sticky residue on the ground that slows movement if stepped on. The spiderlings are individually weak but swarm aggressively in numbers.

Strategy

Prioritize clearing spiderlings the moment they spawn — one burst from the Machine Gun eliminates a cluster. Never stand still while spiderlings are present or the Titan Spinner will close in for a free lunge. The web-spit is telegraphed by a brief abdomen raise; sidestep immediately. Avoid the web residue patches on the arena floor. Leon's Shotgun deals the most damage per hit against the Titan Spinner's body; aim for the head segment for a guaranteed stagger. The boss's patrol pattern becomes more erratic below half health — keep the camera panning and listen for the audio cue of skittering before it lunges from off-screen.

⚔️

Super Tyrant (Mr. X)

Weakness
Heart weak point takes maximum damage from Requiem bullets; parry charges and punches
Recommended Gear
Requiem Bullets, Magnum, parry timing essential, health tonics stocked

Attack Patterns

The Super Tyrant is an enhanced version of Mr. X from Resident Evil 2, encountered deep in the ARK laboratory by Leon. He retains the original's relentless pursuit and powerful overhand slams but adds new attacks: a vehicle throw where he hurls nearby cars at Leon, a two-handed clap that creates a shockwave, and a faster charge that crosses the arena in seconds. His chest cavity is exposed in this upgraded form, revealing his heart as a weak point.

Strategy

Parry his standard punch with the L1 button to create safe firing windows — the parry window is generous on his slow overhead slams and charges. Immediately after a successful parry, aim at his exposed heart and fire Requiem Bullets for maximum single-hit damage. When he climbs atop a vehicle and prepares to throw it, dodge sideways the instant the throw animation begins — straight backward is not enough. The vehicle throw cannot be parried. Keep the Magnum in reserve for Phase 2 when he accelerates; the stopping power from a Magnum headshot is the most reliable way to interrupt his charge before it connects.

⚔️

Plant 43

Weakness
Open petals expose the glowing mouth; red barrel chain explosion ends the fight quickly
Recommended Gear
Shotgun for mouth damage, Machine Gun for tendril suppression, one Magnum shot for barrel chain

Attack Patterns

Plant 43 returns from Resident Evil 2 in a dramatically enlarged mutant form, blocking the ARK entrance at Blackthorn Station. Its primary attacks are tendril slams that cover wide arc areas around its base, a toxic spore cloud that blankets the center of the arena, and a rapid center-head snap that extends forward with little warning. The petals surrounding its body shield the weak point between attacks and only open when the boss is preparing to strike or recovering from a tendril slam.

Strategy

The fight's rhythm is: bait a tendril slam, sidestep left or right to avoid it, then rush in and shoot the glowing mouth inside the open petals with the Shotgun before they close. Never stand in the center of the arena where the toxic spore cloud concentrates. The center-head snap is its fastest attack — watch for the neck extending slightly forward as the tell and dodge back. In the final phase, red explosive barrels drop near the boss's root system; shoot one barrel to trigger a chain explosion that removes a large portion of its remaining health. Finish with Shotgun shots to the mouth to end the fight.

⚔️

The Commander

Weakness
Steam phases limit visibility; rely on audio cues and keep parry input ready
Recommended Gear
Knife for parry counters, Matilda for stagger shots, Combat Knife fully sharpened

Attack Patterns

The Commander is an elite Umbrella soldier fought by Leon in the ARK command corridor. His appearance and fighting style strongly recall the HUNK character from past Resident Evil entries. He fights with knives and close-quarters techniques, dodging Leon's gunfire with fluid sidesteps and closing distance with explosive speed. His most dangerous mechanic is deploying smoke grenades that trigger steam venting throughout the corridor, cutting visibility to near zero and forcing Leon to rely on sound. During steam phases he attacks from behind or from the sides.

Strategy

The opening phase is entirely parry-based — do not attempt to shoot him until you have successfully parried two of his knife lunges and landed counter-strikes. Parry inputs stagger him and create a window for a knife combo or a point-blank Matilda burst. When smoke grenades drop and steam fills the corridor, stop moving and listen for his footsteps, then keep your parry input held. He always attacks within three seconds of the steam deploying. A sharpened Combat Knife deals additional damage on parry counters and is the most efficient tool in this fight. Keep at least one healing item in your hand slot during the steam phases in case a strike lands.

⚔️

Victor Gideon (Final Boss)

Weakness
Glowing red cysts across his body are the primary damage targets; keep moving to avoid electricity
Recommended Gear
Fully upgraded primary weapon, sharpened hatchet, Magnum, four healing items minimum

Attack Patterns

Victor Gideon is the game's final boss and its most demanding encounter. Phase 1 has Gideon fighting with writhing tentacle tendrils that can be parried and a jumping electricity attack where he charges at the arena's edge, draws a glowing line on the ground marking the strike zone, then crashes down on Leon's last known position. In Phase 2 he transforms into a form recalling Resident Evil 3's Nemesis, with glowing red cysts distributed across his body and ground-burst cysts that must be destroyed to prevent them from healing him.

Strategy

Phase 1: parry the tentacle attacks consistently and move off the electricity charge line the instant it appears. After each electricity crash, he leaves a recovery window — use this to unload your highest-damage weapon. Phase 2: shoot the three large body cysts with any weapon to destroy them — one hit each. After all three are destroyed, smaller cysts appear on the ground; eliminate these with a single bullet each before they regenerate. Repeat the cycle until Gideon staggers. His melee range is enormous in Phase 2 — maintain distance and use the hatchet throw to deal damage during his charge-up animations. Healing items from Phase 1 carry into Phase 2, so do not over-use them early.
