This is a condensed overview of the main quest line and three boss fights, not a full walkthrough of every region, side quest or companion quest. The quest order and regions follow the Fextralife main-quest list; the setting and premise follow Wikipedia. Avowed is an Obsidian Entertainment action RPG set in the Living Lands, where you play the Envoy, an emissary of the Aedyr Empire. Where a wiki page does not yet list boss weaknesses or rewards, this guide says so instead of guessing. Specific loot, companion and build advice has been left out because we could not verify it.
The Fextralife list opens in Dawnshore with four main quests in this order: On Strange Shores (starting at Fort Northreach), Message from Afar, An Untimely End and The Animancy Method. During An Untimely End you fight Thalla the Taskmaster at the Apothecary's Shop in Paradis (see the boss entry below).
The next region is the Emerald Stair, with the main quests Ancient Soil and A Path to the Garden. Wikipedia describes each of the game's regions as a different faction conflict, with your dialogue choices shaping how the story ends. One boss tracked by the wiki here is Cylia, found at Naku Tedek Grounds.
Shatterscarp has three main quests: Face Your Fears, Shadows of the Past and Our Dreams Divide Us Still. Fextralife lists Lodwyn as initially found at Thirdborn in Shatterscarp. Because the endings depend on which side you back and what happens to the deity Sapadal, it is worth finishing side content before you advance, but check your own save for what is still open.
The last region is Galawain's Tusks, with The Heart of the Living Lands. The Siege of Paradis becomes available right after it and is the final main quest. In it you fight through Steel Garrote enemies to reach Paradis, clear the Eastern Gate, the Main Plaza and the Administration District, and then fight Lodwyn a second time. Her defeat triggers the ending sequence. Fextralife's quest page does not describe her phases or attack patterns, so none are given here.

Thalla the Taskmaster
Attack Patterns
Thalla is fought at the Apothecary's Shop in Paradis during the quest An Untimely End. According to Fextralife his attacks are a club ground smash, a triple ground smash while advancing, a club swing that lunges forward, a ground stomp that shows a red area on the ground first, and a rubble throw.
Strategy
The wiki advises patience because of his large health pool, dodging sideways rather than backward against his forward-moving attacks, leaving the red circle as soon as it appears, and counterattacking during his recovery after big swings and smashes. Listed rewards are Adra, 10 Silver Fenning, a Paradisan Ladder, Raw Trout, Cooked Rabbit Bits and Ogre Blood.
Cylia
Attack Patterns
Cylia is found at Naku Tedek Grounds. The wiki lists two attacks: it pulls green energy from its chest and throws it, and it raises its arms for a ground stomp that shows a small red circle before a burst of green energy.
Strategy
Defeat the accompanying enemies first (the wiki mentions a Delemgan Scourge and a Xaurip Bulwark), keep moving, and dodge when you see the charge-up animations. No rewards or recommended weapons are listed.
Delemgan Queen
Attack Patterns
The Delemgan Queen is found in Delemgan Glade, east of the Shrine to Skaen. Fextralife lists a Poison Summon (she raises and lowers an arm to create poison under your companions rather than you, which gives you a chance to attack), an extending arm punch with long reach, and a double arm smash that marks a red area on the ground.
Strategy
Eliminate the Delemgan minions first, then focus on the Queen. Stay mobile, dodge sideways as well as back against the long punch, and attack during the Poison Summon. The wiki does not say whether the fight can be skipped.
