Combat: Pure Skill Expression

The one-hit design creates an unusually pure skill expression loop: die, learn the exact pattern that killed you, execute it correctly. Watching a 30-second encounter that killed you eight times finally flow perfectly in a single attempt is a uniquely Ghostrunner satisfaction. The upgrade system adds meaningful differentiation — Overlord (possess and explode enemies) is the most spectacular ability; Sensory Boost is the most forgiving for learning encounters.

Gameplay and Level Design

Level design is the game's greatest strength: each section introduces new enemy combinations and environmental obstacles that create distinct challenges. The motorcycle sequences break up the parkour formula effectively. The boss fights are the highlight — each requiring multiple phases and different abilities to counter efficiently.

Story and World

The story is serviceable cyberpunk — a cult of rogue Ghostrunners with thematic resonance about control and freedom that doesn't quite reach the ambition of the visual design. Audio logs and environmental storytelling add depth for players who look for it.

Graphics and Performance

Runs at locked 60fps on PS5 and modern PC. The neon-saturated visual style is distinctive and consistent — Ghostrunner 2 is immediately recognizable. PC version supports higher frame rates (120fps+) for exceptionally smooth gameplay.

Verdict

Essential for action fans who love mastering difficult movement. Short, intense, and deeply satisfying.
