Summary
An open-world action RPG built around Pawn companions, vocations and climbing large monsters, with no mandatory fast travel; see the critic reception box for published scores.
Combat: Vocations and Large Monsters
There are ten vocations: Fighter, Archer, Mage and Thief at the start, plus Warrior, Sorcerer, Mystic Spearhand, Trickster, Magick Archer and Warfarer. The Fextralife wiki describes Sorcerers as using large area-of-effect spells and Thieves as fast dagger fighters who can cling to larger enemies. Large monsters can be climbed and attacked from their bodies, with stamina limiting how long you can hold on.
World Design
Fast travel is limited: per the Fextralife wiki and RPG Site, Oxcarts run fixed routes and Ferrystones are consumable items. The world is split between two major kingdoms, Vermund and Battahl (Wikipedia).
Pawns and Multiplayer
There is no direct co-op. You create a Main Pawn and can recruit up to two Pawns made by other players through the Rift.
Platforms
The base game launched on 22 March 2024 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (Wikipedia). Dark Arisen is listed for 9 October 2026, including on Switch 2 (Wikipedia, RPG Site).
