The opening introduces DedSec and the recruitment system. Early on, build a small team with different strengths so you have options for stealth, hacking and direct confrontation. Use the Profiler on people you meet to see their skills and traits before deciding whether to recruit them.

London is made up of eight boroughs plus the City of London. Liberating areas by completing story and faction missions is the campaign's main loop.

Recruitment

Different operatives suit different jobs: someone with access to a restricted area can make infiltration easier, and a sturdier or armed operative suits direct confrontation. Profile people before approaching them so you recruit for a purpose rather than at random.

Hacking Approach

A common approach is to use cameras, the Spiderbot and drones to scout and complete objectives remotely, then fall back on a recruited specialist when you need physical access. Combine these tools to avoid direct fights when you prefer.

Essential Tips

1. Permadeath is optional. It is chosen before starting a new game and permanently removes operatives who die or are arrested; if all are lost, the game ends.
2. Cargo drones and the Spiderbot give you ways to reach objectives without walking in.
3. Collect Tech Points around London to unlock gadget and hacking upgrades.
4. Bloodline (6 July 2021) is a paid prequel expansion with Aiden Pearce and Wrench.
5. Online mode (four-player co-op) launched in March 2021 on most platforms and 18 March on Windows; Tactical Ops followed on 23 March.
