Getting Started: The Grapple Hook

Rico's grapple hook is customizable. The first mod you get is the Air Lifter, during the mission Behind the Lines; it attaches an inflatable bubble to an object by a tow cable. Select it in the grapple menu, aim at a target and press the grapple button. Releasing the button releases the balloon, and quick repeated presses attach several balloons to one target (Nerds and Scoundrels). Heavier objects are harder to lift. Other mods unlock later through mission progression, so check the loadout menu.

Chaos and the Army of Chaos

Rico leads a rebel force, the Army of Chaos, against the Black Hand in Solís. AI-controlled allies fight alongside him in frontline battles (Wikipedia). We have not verified how destruction in the open world affects the Army of Chaos, so we give no farming advice.

Weather

Extreme weather, including tornadoes, blizzards and sandstorms, is a feature of the game (Wikipedia), and Steam also mentions lightning storms. Storms can affect vehicles and objects, so watch the sky when planning a stunt or a fight.

Using the Air Lifter

Nerds and Scoundrels describe uses including lifting a hostile vehicle and letting the wind carry it off, lifting a vehicle until its balloon pops, moving large items that block your path, and turning a tank into a floating gunship. We have not verified other mod combinations.

Does Just Cause 4 have multiplayer?

No. It is a single-player game, and we have not confirmed any working community multiplayer mod for this game.

Do I need to play previous Just Cause games first?

Just Cause 4 is a sequel to Just Cause 3, but you control Rico in a new setting in Solís, and the story is told in this game.

Dare Devils of Destruction adds weaponized vehicles and challenges against rival gangs. Los Demonios has Rico and Javi investigating an ancient temple where a demonic force is released. Danger Rising gives Rico a prototype hoverboard and sends him after the Agency (Steam Expansion Pass page).
