Quality Vagabond build — soft cap leveling order
A Quality build splits levels between Strength and Dexterity to use the widest range of weapons. Starting as the Vagabond gives the best early armor and a Longsword that scales with both stats and stays viable through Liurnia at plus 15.
Leveling order:
- Vigor to 40 first, always. You will get one-shot in Limgrave without this. Every Elden Ring build needs 40 Vigor before Liurnia.
- After Vigor 40, alternate Strength and Dexterity toward 40 in each. Damage scaling has a steep jump at 40 in both stats — going past 40 gives diminishing returns until 60.
- Endurance to 25 for the medium roll threshold, then stop unless using heavy armor.
Weapon recommendations:
- Early Limgrave: Longsword plus 3 with Bloody Slash Ash of War. The bleed buildup adds damage without consuming your scaling.
- Mid Liurnia: Claymore plus 9 with Lions Claw. The poise damage from Lions Claw staggers most humanoid bosses in two hits, giving a free riposte.
- Late Mountaintops: The Greatsword at plus 25 with Stamp Upward Cut. It trades hits with every endgame boss without flinching due to its high poise damage.
Quality build peaks at level 125 for PvP invasions, which is where the endgame online bracket clusters.
